Kemah:
The unique community of Kemah can best be described as a quaint, unique,
and friendly waterfront town. Most folks around here think of the Kemah
Boardwalk and recreation when they think of Kemah, but there are some
fabulous neighborhoods and waterfront properties available. Most of
Kemah's neighborhoods were developed slowly, home by home; as a result,
there are very few traditional looking neighborhoods. It is not uncommon
to find small cottages next to large luxury homes here. There are a couple
of what is termed "conforming neighborhoods" in which all the homes of the
neighborhood are about the same standard. So depending upon your
personality, there should be a setting to suit your tastes. Resale real
estate dominates the market here, although there are some new luxury homes
available. Clear Lake Shores, located within the city of Kemah, is an
especially unique waterfront community where it's common to find shack
next to chateau. Many of the residents run about on golf carts and gather
together at the local pub. The price range of homes in Kemah range from
the extremely affordable ( low $100's) to the priciest of upscale
waterfront homes. Taxes in Kemah are relatively low, and the school
district for this community is the exceptional Clear Creek ISD.
